I KNOW I'M BLOGGIN' TWO DAYS IN A ROW...SIGN OF THE TIMES
THE SWING SET FROM H-E-Double Hockey Sticks
I know it looks innocent enough sitting there, all put together, with my children happily having a picnic beneath its shady green roof. But there is a dark side in its shadows.
Most of you have heard the story but here it is in a nut shell for those who have not been so fortunate. Play house slides off of truck onto Rich who was holding it onto the back of the truck going down the road. Rich hits his head quite hard on the ground. House is loaded back onto truck and taken to new location (my house). Rich is not doing well and starting to forget things. Lacee takes Rich to Urgent Care where they send him to the hospital via ambulance, head scan is inconclusive so they life flight him to a trauma center where he stays for a few days and then take about two weeks to fully recover to where they will let him return to work. Meanwhile I have Lacee's kids while she is in the hospital with Rich, company coming to stay with us for a few days. Pat and I decide to take the house off the truck and move it back by the gate until we can find someone to help move it over the fence. Well while we are taking it off I slip off of the bumper of the truck and smash my hands on the tailgate between the truck and the playhouse. No big deal, kind of hurts but I feel like I am getting off easy compared to Rich. I clean the house, pack dinner and get all five kids off to work with me. When I get there I rub my finger because it was hurting from smashing it and look down to see my diamond missing from my wedding ring. It also smashed the diamond band on my other hand so the bottom was completely flat. I call Pat crying and he looks with a flashlight, but to no avail. I kept thinking I was going to wake up soon but this was a real life no good very bad day. Makes me grateful for the days that are only no good or just bad. Like maybe when Jacob pours a half gallon of bleach into my washing machine that was full of colors I had just washed, or constantly dumps full shampoo and conditioner bottles into the tub, or use an entire new bottle of ranch to dress a hand full of salad or flushes my undies down the toilet or okay I guess you get the point. But at the end of the day I can always be assured that someone has it worse than me.

OH, these ARE the days of our lives! It sure does look nice in your yard though. Who would have ever thought that such an innocent, fun toy could bring so much turmoil. You're the best!! I appreciate you keeping my kiddies so I could be with Rich. I didn't worry about them at all - and that means so much to me! (I'm unable to do that most of the time when they're not with me.) Thanks Cami! One of these days maybe we'll brave coming over and playing on it... who knows!?????
I am so laughing my butt off, but feeling really guilty for it too. You have the funniest way of putting things! Jeez between you and Candice, I'm getting really nervous about what's coming for me. Lost diamonds, concussions, burglary, or maybe Swine flu? Seriously, are you kidding me? Fate had better move it right along, cuz you guys have had your share!
Oh my dear Cami, how I have missed your posts. You are the best mommy in the world. What a trooper you are. I will pray for no broken bones on that cursed playhouse.
Holy Cow! I think you should write your life story, its hilarious! You've (with a little help from sweet Jacob) inspired me to wait to have children:) Love you much, thanks for letting us crash with you for a few days. It was so fun!
I am so sorry but I am laughing so hard too! I miss you Cami!
That better be the best damn swingset EVER!!!

I am so glad you guys are all doing great, and what a blessing it is to have you and Lacee so close to each other to be able to help with these kinds of things that un-fortunately do happen. :( Your a good friend.
